Herculiner

I think it came out great. Did the bed, rails, flares, and valence. This stuff is pretty goopy and thick and it covers pretty well, I still have yet to bolt back in the stuff in the bed, but it looks amazing. I took my sweet time prepping and taping off...I must say thumbs up. What really sold me on this was I saw my co-workers truck and he did it a year ago...it still looked very good. I was only worried about the longevity.

Anyway...pics will do the talking.

Not bad, I hope you didnt put it on thick or it'll crack. Also it may fade in front of your eyes. Looks good though.

Fx4wannabe01 04-20-2009 10:56 PM

Looks good! But looks like a bear to wash that thing now. What kinda mitt to you use?

mossyoak03 04-20-2009 10:57 PM

looks good ill be doing mine this summer

t3ob 04-20-2009 10:59 PM

looks good, bout how long did it take you to do it?

You got me considering this now...

malydeen 04-20-2009 11:01 PM

make sure you get the UV protectant or it will fade. I have had mine for a year and a half and it is all faded, I didnt use the UV protectant. When I recoat I will put it on then. I I missed a couple spots. Its not really faded exactly more like just not shiny.

Robin Hood 04-20-2009 11:02 PM

How much did you use? Cost? and how long? I want a bed liner bad. And I enjoy DIY.

Redneckstone 04-20-2009 11:03 PM

and few guys up here did theres and its peeling bad.. but we have alt harsh weather

Ford04Ranger4.0 04-20-2009 11:05 PM

Raptor Liner is another good one guys around $100 and its a 2 part liner with a bed spraying gun.

korey89 04-20-2009 11:10 PM

Looks good Ricky, you ever use that other stuff I gave you? I'm curious about the texture of it versus the Herc. How long did it take you?

Robin Hood 04-20-2009 11:15 PM

The weather is one thing I'm worried about, when summer hits I'll be 115+° here and I wanna know this'll hold up...

blueranger789 04-20-2009 11:19 PM

Mine took a gallon, At the time it was $100, now it is around $80. The rest of the supplies cost me around $25. Minie has held up great. I dont really use my bed for much more then hauling camping supplies. I just got sick of looking at all the scratches.

I havn't had any problems with mine. I live in Minneapolis and we get 115* to -20*. When you prep like this its never gonna come off:

TurdFX4 04-21-2009 10:00 AM

herculiner is great if you dont plan on hauling anything... Ive done 7 trucks so far and every one of them the stuff peals off... not to mention people love to peal the **** off when they look at it

Woods-Rider 04-21-2009 10:23 AM

looks really good, but for $300 you can get it professionally done which comes with a lifetime warranty. guess if your bed only sees light use you dont need it, but mine is 5 years old now and i have had it redone a few times at no cost.

agree mine was done in 2001 from the original owner and still is holding great. so its 8 years old. i am sold on Rhino

malydeen 04-21-2009 10:37 AM

It would be nice if it was only $300. I was quoted by rhino for $475 under the rail and $575 for over the rail. Line-X was $500 over the rail and no discount for under the rail.

If you prep correctly you wont have problems with peeling. I took the scowering pad that came in the kit and threw it way, and bought myself a wire wheel for the drill.

you have to shop around at multiple stores my GF dad has had 4 Rhino jobs done 2 on his S10's and 1 chevy 1500 8ft bed and one F-150 6ft bed

he paid just over $350 for the over rails on the s10's and $450 for his chevy and $400 for his f-150 non rails...

Downey 04-21-2009 10:58 AM

04blackedge 04-21-2009 11:22 AM

That came out really good Ricky, nice job! Get a full truck shot, I'm still iffy on that valance but I want to see the entire thing.
