I changed the rear suspension set-up to goofyleaf. It was a cheap way to get more droop. I still need to make a trac bar and make a pin system so the eyelet side of the new spring that's on the frame will stay on the frame when i'm on the road and not unload. Then I can just pull the pin out when I need the extra flex. I'm going 4link next but I thought this would help me a lil for now. It rides no different than it use to. Just has more droop. If you're wondering, when there's weight on the 63" chev spring that's on the frame, it settles onto the frame and it looks normal. This was pic is when my truck was on the lift with the tires barely touching the ground. It's pretty self explanatory how it works.

 

I've never noticed a set up like that before.

 

um..hmmm different.. it seems like it would need some kinda links to hold the rear end now..

 

I've had a few buddies that have ran this/ run this now and 2 run trac bars and one doesn't. The one that doesn't says he has a little axle wrap sometimes and the other 2 that have the trac bars have had no problems for years. they wheel their stuff hard too. If I have problems with even a trac bar, it gives me a good excuse to go 4link. I have only 50 bucks into this set-up for the 63" chev's. From what i've seen though, I should be fine with just a trac bar. We'll see. Input is appreciated...

 

might as well 4 link and run some coil overs you would have insane travel

 

I think I want to do air shocks when I 4link it. Just don't have the cash yet... Just spent $400 on hid lights for my ranger. Getting hid heads, fogs and 2 7" hid offroad lights... Should be pretty good on light now.

 

Seems like everything that you and your buddies do are cheap things.

Maybe its just me. IDK I guess if it works it works.

Lately, yes... I've also been a part of some sweet all-out custom buggy 4 link set-ups. I guess personally, lately I just want to put money into my ranger again. This is just my offroad toy so if it's not perfect or even broke, who cares!

 

There is a guy that I wheel with that has an XJ, and he's running these. Without the trac bars he was getting wicked axel wrap. So bad that it was bending the leafs. Good droop, but that was it. He has trac bars on there now, and it helps, but then you loose alot of that flex with the track bars, rendering them almost useless.

That's good to know. IDK, my 2 buddies with the trac bars still have a lot of flex. Could it be the way the guy you knew did it?

 

buggy springs like that work great on a ramp. But on the trail they let the axle move around all ***** nilly. They are really no different then the revolver shackles.

 

Possible for sure, He isn't the brightest tool in the shed. I believe they were just a regular trac bar that hung down, not like the JD ones where they are on top of the leafs.

He got sick of trying to screw around with them, and just went for a 4 link.
