Leather Fx4 60/40 seats !

Well got my seat covers from Terry off of ebay and there awsome ! I think the little wrinkes will come out after some time . He sent me the 2 parts for the center arm rest , Top part he sent was the whole lid .The main driver seat was alot of work by it self . Let me know how you think i did on this job .

Dirty pic of the truck

very nice. remember as you're putting on covers like that to smack them hard over and over which helps disperse the wrinkles and gets the covers to hug the seat as good as possible. (learned this by watching Ishmael on West Coast Customs lol)

Thanks ! I paid $370 with shipping , He had it listed on ebay as buckets . I asked Terry if he could make it into a 60/40 and he did . I dont think its to bad of a price when most leather kits are $600+

Looks great! And I bet they are comfortable too. Your idea of dirty is like mine too. One day of rain or a couple days without a wash is dirty lol.

Truck looks sweet!

my seats are black with gray insets, cloth... and whats happening is even though im sitting on a towel for my short ride back home from surfing, im getting salt water stains from my wet suit all over the arm rest and seat, white rings look awful. My explorer never had this problem on its gray leather seats.

Your seats came out awesome. im going to ask terry for your exact set up, gray, with the perforated insets and put in heaters while ive got the covers off. Id love to do black but i think it will show dirt and water. The color you picked always looks clean. you did a great job. I hope i can get mine to turn out like that

im a little apprehensive about the armrest and fastening the covers properly... but maybe once i start taking them apart it'll make more sense. I have hog ring pliers already.

It is a pretty simple install if you can do simple mods . I used hog rig pliers and it helped alot but there isn't alot of hog rings , Not to bad of a d.i.y , Over the past 2 days they have really look nice , Not many wrinkles .

I got a quote from terry; leather for $430 (XLT bench)... plus im going to do seat heaters if i take on the job which is prob another $150. i thought i was going to jump into this, but i might wait a little bit since it looks like it'll be a bit more than i had thought at almost a $600 mod. still not too bad though... I have hog ring pliers, ive used them in the past when i did some light upholstery work on my old 944.

he cant do the perforated insets like yours though on mine. not sure why.

your seats look awesome man.

Get waterprooF seat covers.
Wet Oki (sp) or something similar.

Std material covers are going to stain no matter.

Terry's Covers are really nice and I will have a set soon enough but they will stain too.

Perforated covers will leak water to the foam.

when im ready i think im going to just do the leather set from Terry. My explorer had leather and i never had problems with it, if im damp im only in it sitting on a towel for 10-20 minutes for the quick gooey ride home.

but your right, the cloth is no match for the salt water, esp the arm rest. the faster it gets gnarly the sooner i'll get in touch with terry :)
