Got some L1224rs and a Lexus third brake light from Jp7 this week, heres the installed pics. These things are super bright and so consistent with the light, look great.
First pic is just the running lights, shows how dark my garage was Attachment 170645 Now this is the brake lights, you can see how much brighter they are Attachment 170646 And this is how much the light up my garage, its insane Attachment 170647 Close up shot of the tails Attachment 170648 |
How much did the tails cost ya? I have been wanting to get something brighter than the LEDs I have in there now.
|
Damn that is bright, looks sick I love it. How much did everything cost you? man, i want 06 tails.
|
SICK!!!!

$65 for the bulbs, $20 for the third
These aren't just some ebay bulbs, these are the bulbs that Ford puts in the Mountaineer, Sable, Taurus X and 09 Mustang. I don't know what model the Lexus light is out of. |

I'll check them out at the meet. I hate to spend that much on 2 bulbs, but I may need to. Did you get any for your reverse lights?

I got some 63 LED backup lights but they are to long for the 06 housing so I'm returning them for some 53 ones. I'll get comparison pics

Trent, looks AWESOME!
I would assume the output of the "bulb" is red actually because if it was white, the light would appear pink. Just from experience of putting 63 LED white in my taillights. That's why I have red now and would like to upgrade to these. |
Mike put on some back up lights... FTW! lol

I'm going to have to PM Jp7 about those lights. Would go good with my line of fire. Super Bright!

Guys:
I don't really think its a matter of the LED's being bright, its just a matter of being able to correctly use the reflector. L1224R's do a good job of this. The plugin "VLED" style LED's don't do as good a job. This is why everyone is happy with the L1224R. Now the BEST mod, would be to take apart the tail light or headlight, and put LEDs firing outwards like a ray of light, so that the LEDs shoot directly at the person viewing it. This would need no reflectors at all (I saw it on a hyundai with LED amber turn signals) This is what I'm going to do with my Evo. My turnsignals on my Evo tails are so skinny but wide, and the VLED plugins I have in there are not as good. http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/c...7/PICT2301.jpg This is the LED mod I want... "dafarmer" is a much better LED guru than I ever am! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TK44vJ8Hmw |

pretty nice
are they plug and play or what |
yeah you just epoxy the mountaineer faster to the back of the taillight and splice in the LED
did you guys have any luck finding the amber models? |
