well i went ahead and customifed the axle to my likings and i needed to get the carrier out and it wouldnt come out for the life of me..so i used my southern ways and got it..out..
a tree, ratchet strap, and an 8' 2x4
pics are kinda crappy came from my iphone

i cut it out..im taking the housing to get em out tomorrow at work..
today i took the piece the knuckle goes into..i dont know the offical word but the outer c flange thingy..
but this axle had radius arms i think its the same as you have..
i cut it close to the weld on the bandsaw then saw where the piece seperated from the caster thingy..
heated it up took it to the press and came out like pie..
im going to mill and drill the knuckles when i get back from LA in two weeks..then im done on that axle for a while..i gotta find the material to retube it but ive got another project in the way of this one i gotta take care of

You don't have to spread it much unless someone put the diff in with a large sledgehammer, lol.
It would be hard to get out without a spreader when there's no axletubes though. In fact, mine was hard to remove the first time when I originally took it apart -- even with the tubes to stand on and pry.
