Made a "minor" modification to the Bug (take 2)
well, the last time i posted photos up, i introduced you guys to my narrowed and lowered front end. i suppose now ill complete the transition from 4x4 status to reflector collector.
for a little reference, i went from this

to this

to this

and for a reference. here is James' stock all original 63 in front of my 60

the stats:
155/60/15 front
5inch narrowed
adjusted all the way up
no shocks
2.5 drop spindles
205/70/15 rear
1 outer click
2inch notch
..... 2.5 inches off the ground at the front apron.
next week i receive my new front rubbers, im dropping down from 155's to 145's. so ill have a better turning radius.
in addition to all the suspension work ive done in the past month, i installed a slightly larger engine this weekend. i went from a 1200cc 40 hp power plant to a 1776cc. i havent taken it to the dyno yet. but lets just say that stock mustangs have a hard time out pulling me until they get into 5th gear (i only have a 4 speed tranny).
at idle, my bug sounds sort of diesel-esque.
and here is Dixie all ready for a ride..

**note, i really wish i had a camera when i first got the car. it had been rolled and was cut up into a baja. use your imagination. im sure it wont be too far off**

needless to say. im almost finished. all that remains is a new headliner, a new dash, floor pan patching, and a little rewiring to make it a little cleaner. whew! its been a productive year.
the orange bug in the background is a car im going to tear into for my brother. he graduates in June (i hope) and he needs a ride worthy of his pimp-tastic nature.... so, what better than a volksrod!?

as with my car. this one was a baja. and im going to save it. already got the new pans in. the engine rebuilt. and the interior assembled. just waiting on my brother to start using his own bread to finance the project and get his lazy sack out here to give a ***** a hand. the plans are to assemble, install disc brakes, better rims (probably some ansens), thick rubber, lowback seats, suicide doors, a ragtop, and a chop top (dead last. this will be my first time chopping a top on a bug). maybe we'll have it complete by June. i doubt that the top will be finished, but we will have in on the road by then, at the very least.
