Gotten bit by the "get rid of your ranger" bug...

Alright here is what is going down...

I have been offered $8,000 for my Ranger (I paid $5800) for it originally and am really considering taking the offer.

I know this is a Ranger website but I need honest opinions about this.

As much as I'd like to say I do, I hardly use the bed for anything. I throw stuff back there a lot but normally nothing that wouldn't fit in a trunk/etc.

Also, being in high school I love driving around with my friends, and I can't really take anyone anywhere due to the small cab of the Ranger.

This is what I'm considering of buying:

Cars For Sale: Car Details - AutoTrader.com

Also there are some other ones I'm looking at:
Cars For Sale: Car Details - AutoTrader.com

and

Cars For Sale: Car Details - AutoTrader.com
Has anyone had an experience with the Xterras? I know they haven't gotten great reviews but neither has the Ranger yet the Ranger is a great vehicle. It seems to meet my needs as far as functionality wise without breaking the budget...Or are there any better options?

HELP!

Hmmm... With a lift and a painted bumper it would look cool. But then again, for 8k, you could find a bad *** 150/250 crew cab...

Okay good to know. Why would you say its garbage though? Like what specifically is bad

I've been having a hard time finding a 250/150 for under 8k around my area.. Plus the size issue is a problem due to the fact I can barely fit the Ranger in my family's garage and they don't want anything sitting outside.. hmm.

Like a Jeep cherokee? A jeep liberty just seems a little too small for me. And kind of girly. haha.

WTF
Ford f250, Good cond, 4WD, 83k miles
That price must not be right

id take the offer honestly if i were you. but if your really tall like i am, i would look for another truck or something you can fit in. that camaro looks like a steal though, id consider that; also consider since u live in iowa, the winter months, cause im pretty sure you get lots of snow and ice.

Yeah that Camaro looks like a steal, its not what I need though so I have to pass.

Yeah we get a LOT of snow, so a 4x4 is really a must for me. I'd like a 4 door truck but there really aren't any that are affordable and not extremely large, since like I said size is an issue.

Has anyone else had an experience with the Xterras? Or should I stick to an older Jeep Cherokee or something similiar?

i have heard of people "upgrading" from an Xterra to a compass/patriot... which is pretty hard to say when those two jeeps are total garbage... so just to clarify... the Xterra is from what i have read, pretty much a POS

The more I read the reviews the more and more I'd hate to "upgrade" to a less reliable vehicle.

Here's a decent Cherokee I found that I kind of like:

I'd pass on the Xterra. A buddies of my dad had one and it was a total piece of crap.

Cheorkees are bad ***. Do like 6" lift, 35s, bumpers etc and you have yourself a very capable rig that looks sick, can carry people/gear and should be reliable.

I would go with a Cherokee, you can still wheel if you want, it has a back so even though you dont use your bed it still can be used, and you can haul your buds around.

You can find some good ones.

To answer you ? about which cars I say the 3rd. less miles and cheapest...oldest to but you are in HS dont need a lexus :)

The more and more I look the more I like the 2000 Cherokee Sport models. A friend of mine has one and I really do like it (though it is in horrible condition)

Now the trick is to convince my parents to let me sell the truck despite getting it 8 months ago.. haha.

Does the Cherokee sport have the same bolt pattern for the wheels as our ranger? (IIRC it should..)

If so I'm definitely keeping my wheels/tires

understand that at your age you shouldn't be driving people around. I personally took out my rear seats of my sentra so i didn't have to lug people around (only my girlfriend(s) at the time) and to save money on gas. i would keep your ranger honestly. you wouldn't have to mess with your insurance or dmv and you can just continue living your life. if you want to drive around town with your friends, do it in your friends car/van (i'm sure at least one of your friends have a van). keep in mind the more seats in a car with a teenager behind it the more expensive your insurance is.

I can fit 5-6 of my friends in the bed of my truck at any given time . The cops around here dont even care. We pulled up next to a cop the other day and I had 4 people sitting in the bed. They all waved and he waved back.
