New Pics since the Axle Swap

Well here are some new pics of my truck since I did my explorer axle swap...still have things needed to do to finish it up. I sold my shell since it was going to cost me $600 or so to get it repainted. I like it with out it more.

Yep it's a Ruff Stuff Diff cover. Along with their axle swap kit for the 8.8.

No problems with the brakes, e-brakes, or gears. Just have to get a driver side axle shaft and replace it with the bearings and seals to stop my wheel wobble hopefully. I also need to order up some Skyjacker Leaf springs for it as well. The stock ones are going to crap with the add a leaf kit. Found some new Bilstein 5100 rear shocks for $100 and free shipping on ebay. So it's all coming along good. LoL I'm still thinking about the fender Flairs Keith I know you still have them!

The explorer axle is a 31 spline versus the 7.5 which is 28 spline and some or most Edge models had the 8.8 but only were 28 spline. The explorer 8.8 axle comes standard with Disc brakes. Mine came with 4.10 and a Limited Slip in it. It takes some time for research and know how to weld the shock mounts. It took me 3.5 hours to get the mounts all lined up then another 6 to bolt it right up under the truck. So in the end you have a stronger axle (Ford claims 35% stronger over 28spline.), and better braking. If you find one with a L/S and 4.10's then your set and don't have to worry about swapping out gears unless you want 4.30,4.56, etc. I also need to chip my truck to get full potential.

I'll try to get you some pics. The 7.5 and how my tires are were not as wide as my front end. Now with the 8.8 they sit at the same width as the front. Maybe a little wider.
BTW are you the one with the shaved emblems? I remember seeing pics of your truck on here and I think you have one of the sickest single cabs!

Truck looks good. Whoever gave you those prices on getting the cap painted were ripping you off.
