Here are some pics of how much wider the axle is. Depending on what tires and rims you have they will be different. I believe the axle is 1.75" wider total then the 7.5. Here are some quick pics.

I'm running 15x8 Procomp rims with 33x12.50 tires

Well hope this helps. If you want a complete bolt on axle with no welding then get one from a Level II FX4 Ranger. Your still going to have drum brakes but you can still swap out and get Disc brakes.

Thanks for the pics. I was thinking about the fx4 axle but they are super hard to find and I can easily have the axle welded. 3/4" isnt too bad I guess. Do you know if the 7.5 and 8.8 are the same width? I didnt notice till now that you are in SJ. I work out in Fremont so not too far from you. We should grab a bite to eat one day and check out the trucks.

Nope the 7.5 is skinnier then the 8.8. I never measured the total difference between the axles but I think the 8.8 is around 1.75" wider then the 7.5.

Thanks for the comments, I enjoy working on it and modding it. I'm going to start to pay it off this year so I'm not going to be doing anything special to it. Just make sure it runs great for me.
