Well the new beater came home today. 1996 ext 2 door, 3.0L , 5speed, 2wd..

I now finally own a 3.0L FML... LOL


only pics for now, she needs some loving bad brakes, suspension, needs cleaning BAD inside, needs tune up. then is good to go. Came with Snow tires and wheels that are over 70% and also the tires on it are great. to small tho so the speedo is off need to fix that was doing 70mph and the speedo said 81 lol

well i can tell you one good thing about it.. it doesnt have flag mirrors.

 

Fix bad things, make it nice to drive and drive it. NO plans at all pure beater. it has 180+k on it and you can tell LOL...


hell no it has power windows, locks, mirrors, and keyless entry. but 5-speed funny little truck

Guy that works with my dad. one owner. actually those tires on the alum wheels are the original tires off my Silver truck LOL got to love how things come back to you... he just installed them this summer and they where brand new when I sold them when I got the truck.

4.0 really isn't all that impressive either. I've driven josh's and steven's. Sure it has a little bit more happy, but its not THAT much better.

It is 1000000000000000000000000000000000x times better. I went from a 99 3.0 to a 98 4.0 and there is an amazing difference.

you cant be talking about a 4.0 ohv. theres a big difference. i have drove both. heck when my truck was stock i lost a short race to a 3.0 because i kept spining and he couldnt spin lol

 

low end tq is a wonderful thing makes my truck a tractor at the dunes

 

except for when you dont pay attention to the peak and dig the middle of the truck into the sand....haha, besides that the truck runs great with the 4.0 in the sand!!!

Try driving something with a 6.2L for a day then going back to a ranger any of them seem slow as *** even the all mighty 4.0L

 

4.0>3.0 no contest. sorry but you cant say its not that much of a difference.

3.0 = 154hp 180tq
4.0 = 207hp 238tq

and same weight in the truck, so how can u possibly say there isnt a big difference? hell the 3.0 barely has more ppwer then the 4cyl
