you might understand. lets see. motor is coming out of the black truck prob will be a month before its finished. so unless i feel like walking up hill in the snow with no shoes(joke) I need something to drive LOL
ohv has decent torque thats all at 160hp stock it sux, and its a v6 and 6's dont make good torque anyway. You want torque go ohv v8 not v6. The best 4.0L is the newer sohc its got better stock numbers to work with if you wanna give it more pep.

its a thought but I dont have the cash for yours at this time.
Nice beater Stone, I am sick of putting miles on my Dodge now that I am back In MN so I am looking for a small pickup myself (not that I need another vehicle around) since a small car isn't for me.
BTW, I think the guy who was comparing the 4.0 to the 3.0 was comparing the OHV motor, and all the numbers and the "my truck is fast" posts are from SOHC motors. I have owned three OHV's and two SOHC's and the OHV's make my 318 Dodge seem quick. I will admit I have never driven a 3.0 though.

i will never give up my ohv 4.0 motor for a sohc 4.0 motor i dont care if its got 900 hp the ohv is much more powerfull than the sohc when it comes to pulling stuff i got power at 1500 rpms most sohc motors ive drive dont have power till 3500 rpms.. we got a v8 4.6 f150 for work i know its the small motor but i will say the thing will fly empty put put like a 1000 pounds bechind it it falls flat on its face my ranger will pull it better than that truck will. bty stone nice looking little beater truck.

I like it Zach, but I still say you need to flip the rear hangers and then leave it alone.
I love my '01. the reason I bought my '86 Ranger was to preserve my '01 It'll still get driven, but won't have all the wear and tear on it of everyday use. A beater is also nice when you have a project for the main truck that takes more than a few hours at night to finish.
