You guys suck. You're making me reconsider my plan.

I might just try to find a replacement paintable bumper and have it painted by a friend of mine. (He does excellent work)

The fender can easily be buffed, the scratch isn't in the paint.

It will be a nice payday.

I just have to wait for insurance to call me back

Update:

Contacted the driver today. I let her know the police report was ready, she's gonna call her insurance and get things rolling.

I told her I already got an estimate if that will speed things up.

I'm assuming she will just tell the insurance company to call me directly.

Hopefully this gets resolved soon. I hate the way my bumper looks

UPDATE:

Called her insurance myself to update the info on the claim. Should be getting a call from the adjuster soon.

Turns out the repair shop I got my quote from is a direct repair center that USAA uses. So they're not going to send me a check.

But they will pay for me to use a rental car while the truck is getting repaired.

I'm a little disappointed I'm not getting a check, but at least the truck is getting repaired. So that's good

QUOTE UPDATE:

My quote got readjusted to $999.43 since my corner light is scratched.

I'm scheduled to go in 9/6 to start getting it fixed.

I hope I get a cool rental car

My rental. 2012 Chrysler 200. It's actually a pretty nice car, much roomier than it looks

My truck got damaged basically exactly the same as yours except on my passenger side because some dumb lady in an FJ Cruiser pulled out in front of me. It was obviously her fault so her insurance paid for it. They gave me the option to either have it fixed and fully paid for or them pay me directly to have it fixed myself. I took the money and got around $850 out of it to fix my truck. Went down to certifit and got a new valance and one fog light for like $75 and then had the bumper and valance painted for a couple hundred. Rubbed out the little marks on my fender and pocketed like $500 lol.

I wish I could have been that lucky. Since USAA has uses the local body shop as a direct repair facility, they wouldn't send me a dime. They told me to take it to the shop, and they'll foot the bill.

I was pretty disappointed, cause after seeing the quote and knowing how cheap replacement parts are, I could have had a nice payday.

At the end of the day, I'm just glad the truck is getting fixed and I'm paying nothing out of pocket

The new Chrysler's are nice cars. My mom's coworker got one and it's loaded.

Family friend owns a garage that my insurances uses and they ate the deductible from my wreck and I still pocketed money from it.

Rental update. Not enough guts to do a burnout, even with traction control off.

Side note: Love the projectors, if it had HID's it would be a ton better

The 5.0 GT i had for a rental did burn outs just fine. It did donuts too. The CEL came on idk why took it back and got a Camry beat that made a weird noise and took it back. then borrowed a friends 350z, dad didn't like that idea so i got a crown vic. Now that car will take all the abuse you give it. Neutral drops, J hooks. reverse burnouts, jumps, potholes you name it it will take it. I love rentals
