Fell through the ice... hehe

so its been a WHILE since i did anything in my trucks, so we went out and hit some decent mud.. mostly water that washed the mud off though :(

i knew this crack was pretty deep but i wasn't sure how strong it was or how DEEP it was. i got the heavy end of the truck over somehow, stopped because i was bouncing pretty good and BAM fell through...

tried for a good 5-10 minutes to get out, then demanded the big *** ford pulled me out instead of my friends chevy

i'm convinced if i had a rear locker i could have done it, and watching the video i should have cranked the wheels the other way when i was backing up.

Enjoy!
Disclaimer, never do this alone! there were 4 full size trucks there ranging from half to one ton

i wish i had got a video of the huge mud hole i went through because i'm not doing it again. there are 2 huge holes on the left side at the end that i hit, hit my head on the window and ****.

and heres a badass "Ranger" i saw last weekend, i was lining up to back up the car when they came over and told me no more !!!!!

Damage report.

My tcase/front diff for some reason wont let me go in reverse in 2wd? the front tire wont roll back, but i can go forward all day long. i need to try it in 4x4 but i can grab the drive shaft with the hub locked and spin it A LOT! i'm not sure what i shattered but i have a feeling i'm not fixing it lol

somehow i didnt break a CV SHAFT!!!!
the chevy wouldn't start which means those other trucks being there was a VERY good thing! he had to get a wrecker to get home we couldn't even pull it

hahaha

you know what, i had 2 guys with me in the truck.. i was like i KNOW i'm not gonna make this.

sure enough.

pictures just dont do justice, my drive shaft is shiny it was buried in the snow/ice. i'm sure that hole was deeper because i wasn't throwing any mud

So close but there is no traction on ice. I guess it's time to lock the rear end now.

Nice!

Good pictures/video, and at least you let the Ford pull you out.

Thanks for sharing, lol! I've been there, but even worse: 2WD...

Hey, you better get some protection in front of that radiator. Your fins are getting pinged to death.
