Pics of my dads '88
Going through a bunch of old pics and found this, 12/30/87. The day my dad picked up his brand new '88 XLT Supercab 2wd Ranger. It's the truck I learned how to drive, drive a stick shift in, took my drivers test in, and went on a few dates in high school in (when dad would let me borrow it that is). Lots of fond memories with this truck. Came fully equipped for the time, cruise/tilt, A/C, tach, am/fm/cassette, power windows & door locks, 2.9L V6/5-speed manual, and the useless jump seats in the rear that me & my sister were stuck riding in whenever we all went somewhere. Had sweet inclement weather options like the 14" deluxe steel wheels with Firestone P215 all seasons and an open rear axle...lol. AKA, pretty much of a handful in the snow.
Sure was a sharp looking truck when it was new though. The two-tone (known by Ford as Lower Accent) was nice, especially in the silver over black.

I hit a deer in it once and blasted the front end but it was repaired and still looked really nice when dad traded it in. Probably had 70,000 miles or so on it by that point.

I have found several 88-92's in trashed out condition and they want atleast a thousand dollars for it.
I see old men driving around in really nice ones. would like to be put on there will for the truck when they die. HAHAHA
What I would like to do with one minus the cowl hood

that was a good looking truck.
now im curious, i was pokin around at the junkyard last week, and came across one of these. it REALLY good condition. so i decide to open it up and check it out. perfect interior, nothing missing, no rips in the red cloth. and also, it seemed like the inside of the truck on those years was bigger then the current interior. am i just crazy or what?
it also had a cool little tarp thing that pulls out of the back wall to cover up the area behind the seats when youve got stuff back there i guess?

my aunt had an 85 or 86. it was red, extended cab, stick and 4x4. she drove it into the ground. the one thing they had back then was a internal tonneau cover that covered the jump seats when not in use. i still wish they offered that.
