You obviously never drove a 2500 Heavy Duty pcollins. My 2500 would pull an F250 with ease. F250 is not even in league with a 2500 that is why Ford made a F350 which only difference is a solid front axel. I don't have to worry about spark plugs popping out of my big block, or changing coil packs every year.I've pulled loads that an F250 could only dream about pulling. F250's engines like to last about 125,000 miles before they start tire. I lost count how many times I've embarrassed an F250 at lights, or passing them going up hill while pulling a heavy load.

There is a reason why I only use 2500's in my line of work. My Ranger is a toy that's used for fun in the mud and I yanked out my under powered 4 liter for a 5 liter long ago.

yes, ford made an f-350, only because chevy made the 2500, you are absolutely right... not because they wanted a 1 ton truck, rather than a 3/4... (f-250) and you're trying to tell me that f-250's didn't have solid front axles? because i'm pretty sure my f-250 did... i'm sure you're going to claim that the newer ones are... right? the 98's did, the new ones do, to the best of my knowledge... and i know that my 88 did...

why don't you take your 35 posts to chevy-forums.com?

i'll be glad to put my vote in tho. i drove a 2008 f550 dump for work, and chevs equivalent. There is absolutely no comparison. the ford was better in every shape, way and form. Im not a ford guy, or a chevy guy, im just stating the facts. i've pulled excavators, skid steers, loaded trucks/trailers with the 550 SD and it felt as normal as driving my little ranger. The chev on the other hand struggled. bad. plus, the SD's turn on a DIME! the wheel just keeps turning. the chevs SUCK and have NO radius. They do have a strong engine, especially the older ones, i had a 2002 plow truck.. 2500HD chev. the thing was unstoppable in the snow. BUT, put a real work load on it, and u felt it. compared to a 250, the 250 whooped its *** as well. ford 2 chev 0.

all 4 trucks, empty, with no load..i cant say there's much difference. They're all powerful trucks. But in my opinion the fords handled the work much much better.

REGARDLESS! im sure you're not planning on doing a bunch of heavy work with the truck, so congrats on the deal. Nice truck, i like it. im partial to reg cabs, although sometimes i hate em! Hope u do something nice with the truck

anyways, nice truck man. it better have the 5.3....

my dads old sierra was a z71 extended cab and it was damn quick for what it was. faster then the f150's for sure. and about up to par with the hemis.
idk about all that. my buddy has and 02 f150 fx4 with the 5.4 triton and that truck out ran a z71 with the 5.7 and out pulled it so idk where you are getting your info from.
