I have been really busy at work and didn't have time to change my oil so I brought the truck to a shop. The guys were really nice and we were talking about how my exhaust had fallen off of my truck and the giant hole in my muffler. They asked me if I wanted them to fix it for me. I told them I was on lunch break and didn't have the time or money. They said it would only take a half hour and $150. I said OK.

 

looks good, nice price! 150 is cheap

 

he said the muffler was 100 and the tip was 35. both are stainless. 15 for labor is pretty good.

 

not to hate or anything...but the muffler could be hung to where it is not visible if the time is taken.......

actually that is as high as it can go without hitting the under body. i have a body lift and i think you can see in one of those pics that it doesn't hang as low as the fuel tank.

yea...i guess i am just used to me and my dads work. we like to hide it as much as possible which kind of makes him hardheaded so he would prob try and lay the muffler flat which would make for a more annoying tailpipe lol

 

actually you cant, tried it, driveshaft becomes an issue. it looks fine to me. i mean you are only going to get it so high anyway.

 

there isn't much room there between the driveshaft and the frame rail. i don't see it fitting sideways. i'll take some side shots tomorrow to see how much you can see it. it does stick out as it is the only thing under there not coated with rust.

i have a si/do magnaflow and mine is laying flat(thats what i meant lol my bad) and you can barely see it. but we may have different mufflers. it looks good tho. I want mine in front of the tire but my dad prob wont let me so i may just have to make the pipes myself....

everything looks fine, but they did a hack job by removing the flex section after the cat and welding the pipe to the cat without it.

 

no sound clips. it is much quieter than a hole in your muffler and no tailpipe though.

 

you mean the intermediate pipe? they had to cut it short in order to move the muffler further towards the front of the truck. otherwise it would have been impossible to have it exit before the wheel.

without the flex section it will end up breaking the welds on the cat.

 

my muffler was laid flat when i bought the truck and i had a big issue with it hitting the driveshaft even with a small load in the bed. so i went to the muffler shop in town here and they turned it a little to clear everything.

ok, I will watch for that. how long is time? my last exhaust was set up like that as well when I bought the truck. it had been that way for 9 years when it was replaced yesterday.

are these the manifolds and pipe flanges/bolts that will get pulled away from the engine?

 

Hehe, better than me, i went in for a oil change at my dealer's service shop and came out with a new truck!! (old truck was also a Ranger...)

 

Looks great...I like it. My muff. is laid flat, it looks goofy, I like yours much better.

 

Nice, does it sound good or is it real Quiet? And why does your driveshaft look so skinny?
That is a good price, I would have looked into something like that but I just ordered a bassani.

its nice to have them but not needed. the manifolds have one as well, i dont see any reason it will wear anything out faster. Do I like how its over lapped and welded? not really but its not going to hurt one thing.
