the cab flex is where my cab mount has rusted through and the body bushings "pulled" up through....so this week i will be welding in a piece of plate onto the top of the mount

Any close up pictures of the bumper? Is that a removable carrier with the winch or is that how the Sams Club special is made? Looks neat!

it is a reciever mount cradle...comes with it from Sam's Club, has integrated selonoids along with the cables and quick disconnects for front or rear use, and a ****** block....rated at 10,000lbs...for $399 .... the warn cover was one a guy had lyin' around he sold me cheap....

as for the bumper i used 3/8" plate for the sides, 3"x4" angle 3/8" thick for the reciever mount, 2" DOM for the upper tubes, 1 3/4" HREW for the lower ones, and 1/4" plate for the skid plate

front...

where i cut off the factory bumper mounts and plated the crumple zones with 3/16" plate to use 1/2" grade 8 bolts

side view showing the way i angled the tubes

locking reciever pin..

small angle just to support the cradle from "flopping around" and for side pulls

front disconnect....

thanx guys

Thanks for the pics! Its a different style/design than most bumpers you see running around.

yeah, i hadn't really seen any that would accommodate a semi-permanent reciever mounted winch...and i like the idea that i can use the winch front or rear...just haven't yet, but am wired up if i do

think i will prolly weld up a plate over the top tube to fill in the gap a little, and act as a gusset. and add a few other pieces at other locations to give it a more "finished" look..... you know how projects go...never really quite finished with them

we don't discriminate against Floridians ( heck i lived north of Orlando for almost 5 years, until the Hurricanes of 04...moved away in 05 ) so come on up

its really easy...just take I-75 to Chattanooga, then I-24 straight to Cadiz, KY then right over to Land Between the Lakes

you show up, i'll buy the steaks
