Bucking 2.5L

Hello! I was leaving the Pizza Hut with my Ranger today, I was in first gear just crusing 5 MPH, then all of a sudden it just bogged down and tried to die, so i pushed in the clutch and it was just fine from then on. I have had this trouble more that one. Does anyone have an idea on what this may be? Thanks

I hate it that nobody has replied to this thread yet. I was anticipating someone to respond with a manual tranny/clutch related response.

My first thing to check is the IAC valve. It's an Idle Air Controller which meters and regulates the air entering the engine when the throttle plate is closed and resting against the idle screw. The IAC valve is a shiny silver cylinder that bolts to the throttle body with two 10 mm bolts. It has a two-wire black, round connector and a gasket between it and the throttle body.

Remove this valve and disconnect the electrical connector. Spray the end with Lectra Motive or other, similar electronic parts cleaner designed for automobiles and blow it dry with an air compressor or let it drip-dry. Lubricate it if you'd like and reinstall it.

Here is the one of my 2.5. This is a view from the passenger's side fender. Front of engine faces right.
