cam problems

I just recently bought a 88 2.3l and so far have had nothing but problems. When i first got it the timing belt broke.... then started knocking once i fixed that... took off the valve cover and well the cam lobe is comepletly rounded and the springs are going bad. the truck ran but recently wont start back up. the timing wasnt set real well. just enough to stay running.. would the truck not start b/c of the cam and springs being junk? the timing i dont think has anything to do with it any more. Also would the cam craft cams be a good place to get the cam lifters and rocker kit? thanks

cory

i have an aftermarket cam made by cranecams if you want to buy it, ill have to find out what its worth. i think its a .420 .420 lift cam but i dont remember.
but the cam opens and closes the valves. so thats prob why its not running.
the timeing does have alot todo with it running also.
the cam i have has to be used with a carb 2.3 i think.

yeah if you could let me know how much you want for the cam. ill try top find out if it matters wether or not if its fuel injected or not. if it matters ill just settle with a new one. yeah the cam is pretty well shafted so i figured that had alot if not all to do with it. thanks for the help
