I dont know if you sucked a gasket, but you definately are running richer than normal. I had similar issues with this on my 03. I pulled the intake manifold off and tested the injectors to see if one was possibly stuck open, all were fine and tested with the correct resistance. I then decided to change the fuel filter and since it had not been done in ages and it ran perfectly. I would also verify that you do not have any vacuum leaks as this could cause your engine to think its running lean and dump more fuel to compensate for the leak. I would investigate these things before throwing too much money into ripping the head off.
