How do the newer 2.3's hold up compared to older models?

I know this probably sounds a little odd, but how do the newer 2.3 Rangers hold up to their 90's counterparts? I'm asking because I still have my old '95 auto Ranger with the 2.3 and at 243,000 miles it still doesn't give me any problems. I just went out and checked the fluids and everything is where it should be.

Radiator is still filled to the brim with coolant as well as some in the reservoir, brake fluid is full (never had to add any), power steering fluid is full (never had to add any), transmission fluid is full (never had to add any) and the engine doesn't burn oil. Basically what I'm getting at is do the newer 2.3's hold up as well if taken care of?

the newer 2.3s are a duratec engine, completely different from the 2.3/2.5 limas

I had an 02 come into the shop last week with 200K on it, seemed to run good for the mileage

I've got the 2.3 and for putting around the city I don't have a problem with it at all and it gets really good gas mileage.

id never own a ranger again. or a ford. my ranger cost me a fortune to keep on the road in the 16 yrs I had it. 35 years with ford, it was hard to let them go. But I did.
