motor bogs down when heater kicks on

motor bogs down when heater kicks on
anyone ever have a 98 with a 2.5 that when the heater kicks on and off the truck bogs down a little everytime the heater kicks on if so is this normal or do i need to do something to it anything would be great

That is probably the A/C compressor. It can run in several modes including floor/defrost and floor/panel, even if the heat is turned toward hot.

Try driving a base ranger with a/c and an auto... my buddy had one with the 2.3 in it, and it bogged BAD. He told me that it felt like 2 of the 4 squirrels died when you turned the a/c on.

You could even it out by tossing a boat anchor on a chain out the back each time the AC compressor turns off.
