New Exhaust Kit

Hi guys,

I've been experiencing some issues with my stock exhaust system. It is pierced.

So I've been thinking to swap the stock one with a new one. Theres so many brands but it is very difficult to choose one from another one. They all look good products.I don't know which one to buy from.
Apparently Flowmaster is a popular brand and many ranger owner use it so I might take it too. The flowmaster 50 DF muffler sounds good to me because I don't want an agressive sound.

Do you think I must change the tailpipe too or can I reuse the old one ?
What else do I have to change ?.

Anyway thank for your advices.

I had a Dynomax system and liked it. It sounded good but wasn't overly loud. If you just changed the muffler you should be able to reuse your tailpipe but you'd likely have to modify it and add another piece in as most universal mufflers are shorter. You could also just put a turndown after the muffler and get rid of the tail pipe completely!

im gonna be putting a flowmaster 44 series on my 2.3. the muffler guy i talked to said it would give it a bit of a low rumble and growl. but i would need to get rid of the flex joint between the cat and the muffler and move the muffler as close to the cat as i can. so i think ill get one of those aftermarket metal flex joints and put it in in place of the one with the boot which evidently has issues of rotting out.

My exhaust was totally rotted out, so I had to replace everything from the header back. I used a magnaflow cat and the dynomax cat back system. The magnaflow cat is stainless steel, but the dynomax cat back wasn't. I painted the cat back with some extreme high temp silver paint and it's still looking good after a couple of years. The dynomax sounds good and isn't too loud. If you don't mind spending some money, I'd go with a gibson stainless steel system.

well i havent had a chance to buy and install the exhaust system i want but my truck backfired a while back and blew a big hole in the muffler so i cutt it of and now my exhaust ends just past the back of the cab with a 3" resonator tip. its fairly loud and annoying but hopefully ill be able to get my exhaust the way i want it in a few months
