I have a 95 ranger 2.3 xl, leaking oil out the front bottom somewhere when driving. Nothing while idling. can park over fresh snow idling for 20 min and nothing. looks like maybe the oil pump?? any other ideas. lost 2 litres on an 80 k trip to work.

 

Is it more on one side? Could be the oil pump, front crank seal, front engine cover seal (the plate that holds the front crank seal and goes over the front lip of the oil pan), could also be coming from the power steering motor if its more on the right side.


I would power wash all the crud on the bottom and take it for about a 10 minute drive to see if its easier to see where its coming from.
