bad tranny

weell i was just tooling along i 90 just west of ritzville when my manual tranny started to make noisees it shouldn't it jerked once or twice quieted down for a minute then jerked again and the engine freewheeled so coasted to the side of the road. the engine reves the tranny will shift but no go forward it has a new clutch as of three months ago.it cost me 283 dollars to get it towed home. what i need to know is it cheaper to fix the old tranny or take my chances with a junk yard tranny?

I'd think junkyard?

Also, FYI, get yourself a AAA card. I think its 20-30 bucks? Free towing. I'm surprised it cost you 283 to get towed. I'm in Alaska and we wouldn't even charge that much.
