Truck Wont Start Please Help
I have a 1991 ford ranger with a 2.3l 5 speed. recently ive been starting the truck with a switch attached directly to the stater cylinoud but today when i went to start it the switch didnt so i tryed useing a screw driver to jump across the cylinoud but that didnt work ether so im lost. does anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be? Please help...
the battery was just replaced on it and so was the starter cylinoid. any other ideas
i have a question about 2 weeks ago my clutch pedal senser went out and thats why i put the switch in. also i replace that and still no luck and then now this happened could it be something to do with the ignition???
if the ignition switch where bad you could still crank the eng. over by jumping across the solenoid. it would crank but not start. so i don't think it is the ignition. check for a bad ground / loose connection / or dead battery. if all checks out good then check the wires going to the starter and the starter itself.
try using a jumper cable to go from the battery straight to the starter. It sounds like the seleniod on the starter is bad. You have two with these fords. Could be the one on the starter if jumping it doesn't work.
