did a little easy wheeling today to test out my HP D30 swap. After stuffing the front tires a few times I devoloped a slight steering issue, I stuffed the steering stabilizer into the engine crossmember and bent the stabilizer pretty good. My stabilizer is in the stock location for the 98 cherokee in came out of.
Question is how much can be safely cut out of that crossmember to gain the clearance I need?

i know on the newer rangers guys remove the suspension crossmember under the engine completely

 

thanks for the reply, I'm gonna cut it up to the flat part in the center then weld in some bracing to bring back some, if not more strength.
