Honestly thats the best suggestion you're going to get. I did research for like 3 years before I ever bought a single part!

What I'm trying to say is, make sure you know exactly what you're getting into before you reach the point of no return. When you ask for an opinion on whether you should use a 9" OR a D44 for your SAS, its going to make people question your ability to pull it off right from the get go.

im not even going to waste my time with that. ive wanted to do a sas for a while now and its the perfet time. Chainfire, thanks for the links. briefly read over all of them, will read more later, and it seems like the easiest setup will be leaf springs. the only problem i will have during this build is welding. i need to get a welder or ive got to pay someone to weld parts for me. im looking at d30's right now, found one for 150

still reading up and getting some more info. i have a couple questions. can i keep my stock rear axle? and is the dana 44 front the same lug pattern? also where did you guys get your schock loops, leaf hangers and shackles, and what kind of leafs? also leanin towards a coil suspension. it looks to be about the same difficulty to do, i just cant find any hoops for the setup...

Yes, as long as the gears match the front.
Nope, and there are alot of different patterns depending on which D44 you go with.
Hoops are going to be a custom deal for coils. If you go coilovers you can use the trail gear hoops. You'll also be able to use the trail gear hoops for a shock tower on a leaf setup. If you run a coil setup like mine though you're probably going to need custom hoops.

do you know what d44 im looking for so the lug pattern matches my rear?
and with coilovers, all you run is the coilover shock right? and did you make your loops?
and is a 3 or 4 link required with all types of suspension? or if i go leaf, do i not need them

No D44 will match your rear lug pattern. If you pick coilovers then yes thats all you'll need as far as shocks. I didn't make my hoops, they were done by Zabeard. Links are not required for all types of suspension. Leafs don't need links.

one more question, do you need to run links with coilovers?

ok now im getting somewhere. so tell me what you guys think. ill run a d30 up front with my 8.8 in the rear. if i can have a shop do the 3 link setup for cheaper than a grand ill do it. if not, ill run leaf springs and im thinking 5" leafs to clear 35's??
and ill run these in a 14"

and pick up some 14" fox coilovers if i go that route.
if i go leaf spring route, ill get these in the 5", correct?

also, can you run coilovers without a 3 or 4 link setup?
