t5cents official d30 SAS thread
So over all whats your impression of this? I have a 98 and am lookin at this myself using much the same parts. Also with this setup whats the lowest amount of lift you could have and still run this? Id imagine the arms are the limiting factor here but they can be adjusted so much or even replaced with shorter arms. Ideally Id like to pull this off with about 3-4 inches of lift
no i havent finished yet. ran into some money problems and still need to finish it. im going to be getting some 2wd f-150 springs in the back that should lift it about 3 inches. and im waiting on the rest of the parts for my steering because i had to give my buddys back. im doing cross over steering with 3/4 inch heims. i also got my 9 inch lift springs in from rustys. here is a pic of how it should sit after i get the rear leafs in. i also got some 35/12.5/15 mickey Thompson baja claws to run for a while and i put them on my sidebitters.
well i finally got all my steering parts i ordered over a month ago. damn ballistic lol. any way i got the tie rod cut down to length and got most of the stock brackets cut off so i can turn. now i need to build the drag link and trac bar and ill be driving again.
well its time for an update. i got the trac bar and all the steering stuff done. and i put 15 inch travel rancho rs9000xl shocks on it. i used factory f-250 shock towers from the 90's. i can get more pics later but here is a few that i have.

i still need to get new leafs for the back and gears and locker for the front but its getting there

well i got some f-150 springs in. they only gave me about 1.5-2" of lift over the expo ones i had tho. they work better tho because the tire is more centered in the wheel well with the shackles now. when i stuff the rear tire it is in the center of the well rather than the front more like the expo ones were. now i defiantly need to get some bigger blocks. hopefully with 2 more inches it will look better lol. otherwise im not sure what im gonna do about the rear lift.

Neapco 283288. It's about $150 by itself. It's the same adapter that comes preinstalled on the superlift driveshaft.
Couple pics of the adapter here:

Ordered mine from northern drivetrain. Was about $130 shipped. It bolts right to the CV cup on the front output shaft of the tcase.
Yea, double cardon on the tcase side. I'm running a custom driveshaft, but it's basically a superlift driveshaft, which is basically a shortened explorer driveshaft.
Just got mine on finditparts for $95 shipped
so if i go grab a junkyard expo front driveshaft it may need to be shortened?
what are you guys doing about power steering lines, i have access to
an omni crimp machine and all sorts of fittings.
thanks for all the good knowledge.
