what are #1 torsion bars? what is the difference between k springs and not?
just curious. i want to put a winch bumper on my truck but how do i compensate for the weight of the bumper and the winch? any ideas would help.

ok...... what do #1 torsion bars come on? and does anyone have the ford part number? how would i know if the torsion bars on my truck are already number 1 or not?

 

ok i read the tag on my truck and the spr code is FF33. does anyone know what this means?

 

its a crapshoot as to what trucks got them and what ones didnt. i know the FX4's did, my 01 XLT offroad had #1 bars, but other than that it seems like ford just threw in there whatever bars they had laying around. lol

 

if you ordered the towing kit wth 4x4, you got them. i have them in mine. i forget what the code is though.

You have F torsion bars (and code 3 leaf packs out back). F's are the softest factory Ranger T bars, B's are medium and #1's are the strongest/stiffest riding. Changing from F's to 1's is a big jump and would work best only if you're adding a lot of weight to the front end.
