1998 pre-runner suspension

Hi, i have a 1998 Ford Ranger xlt 2wd 3.0 v6, I am looking for cheaper ways to do suspension work to get a pre-runner type handleing and feel. I have found kits for the front that are almost $3,000. I am not looking to spend that much for just the front. If you have any suggestions please let me know. Thank you and have a great day.

This may be one of those cases where you get what you pay for. I don't know if I would gamble with cheap parts on the suspension. One broken part could be catastrophic. I too would like to upgrade by 2000 Ranger 2X4, but I won't do it unless I have the funds to do it right. What have you found so far? Any links you want to share?

That looks like a lot of work to install. I think I'll stick with the torsion bar suspension that came with the truck. Good luck with your search, but it looks like this would be sturdy and reliable if you plan to do some high speed off road racing.

I suggest that you read some threads about building a prerunner. This will give you ideas.
Prerunner project: F.O.R.D. - The Ranger Station Forums
mild prerunner build - The Ranger Station Forums
RaceRangers Build - The Ranger Station Forums
Or just get a suspension lift like Fabtech to improve the off-road performance of your 2wd rig.
