2002FX4's SAS thread

SO to start off I thought I'd just get this thing going finally. Between working overtime at work and working on my SAS I've been pretty occupied. I have pics and they will follow shortly. I'm sure I'll still get some grief for not having them immediately though!

Anyhow. I've been at working on the swap now going on 3 weeks. I have the Ranger at a shop mostly for the location/storage issue. Jason, the shop's owner, is a really cool guy and has let me do as much of the work as possible, which is 95% of it to this point. He is really around just for the stuff that requires more skill and experience (gears, lockers; axle stuff, steering) which we havn't arrived at yet. Otherwise he's just there for the advice and guidence.

JJ's Fab

The above is a link to Jason's shop. He's a jeep guy so this swap business is pretty simple stuff for him.

Since I don't have any pics just yet I'll update verbally. Tonight I've finally gotten to the point where the rear is mocked up: leaf hangers tacked, axle U-bolted to leafs, tires on and rear of truck is sitting on its own.

Front has the leafs/hangers in and tacked. Just mocked up the axel and will be getting U-bolts/top plates and hopefully all of the front axle to the point of the rear by Friday. Again, pics soon to follow!

By the way, for the height at the top of the rear fender.. started out at ~48". Now it sits at nearly 53"!

paper thin sidewalls, when put into really any harsh conditions they shred.

The red Ranger is my Dad's. He used to have a 3/4 ton '92 Silverado 4x4, but it was stolen. So he got the Ranger; has had it for a couple yrs now.
