I'd recommend taking the tires off to replace the front shocks. Put a jackstand under the control arm so it's stationary and it can't move when you remove the shocks. Loosen and remove the nut on the top of the shock mount. Then loosen and remove the nuts on the 2 bottom studs. Grab the shock body and push down on it to compress it. When the top stud comes down and out pull it back and then just lift up to remove it...
When you put the new ones in, put the bottom two studs in first then compress it again and lean it forward and it will expand allowing the top stud to slide through the hole itself.
Don't forget to torque your lugnuts when you put the tires back on.

Super easy. The rear shocks are simply unbolt, remove, replace, re-install bolts. Most shocks should come with a strap keeping them compressed to ride height. Don't remove the straps until they are bolted it.
I left my front tires on my Ranger when I replaced the shocks and didn't find it hard at all. I did pull the rubber guard out of the fender to get to the top bolt, but that was it.
