alot of people don't get new shocks and and don't have any problems with it.

i have a 3 inch lift and am still running the stock shocks with out a single problem,

so no, you do not need new shocks.

yes most people who lift the proper way do install new shocks and yes you do need them.....any downward travel will stretch the shocks out to where they will not be effective in what they are susposed to do.......

if you are not going to replace the shocks, then you might as well leave them off...because it wont be long before they are broke...

Lifted97ranger is right, if you don't get new shocks your stock ones will probably end up getting destroyed. They will extende to far and probably break. You want to get new shocks. Go to Summitracing.com or some other site and just enter in your truck and look through there web site and you'll find shocks for your truck.
