3 inch drop

I'm thinking of dumping my truck....has anyone else gone for 3 inches?

Dangerranger01 04-17-2011 09:31 PM

No one else has ever gone for 3 inches.

lul, most do a 2/3 or a 4/5 DJM drop.

CBrooks89 04-18-2011 09:27 PM

01RangerEdge 04-18-2011 09:28 PM

Buying a drop kit

CBrooks89 04-18-2011 09:32 PM

evilclown312 04-18-2011 09:41 PM

CBrooks89 04-18-2011 09:56 PM

does anyone have a how to for the 4/5 kit?

evilclown312 04-18-2011 10:02 PM

Im assuming it comes with instructions

CBrooks89 04-18-2011 10:09 PM

hey billy...did it come with instructions?

Dangerranger01 04-18-2011 10:10 PM

Its easy. just unbolt all the factor stuff, then re-bolt the DJM stuff back on.
For the rear, just unbolt leaf springs, bolt them up but under the axle with the new spring plates and hardware.

Yes it comes with instructions.

CBrooks89 04-18-2011 10:11 PM

for 600-800 bucks it should

Dangerranger01 04-18-2011 10:12 PM

lol, that ain't a bad price. You get brand new a-arms and balljoints if it makes you feel better.

Dangerranger01 04-18-2011 10:25 PM

Ah thanks billy. That picture was taken right when i did the swap and has a 1in lift shackle in there (so a 4/4 drop), so the rear hadn't settled...its more level now

CBrooks89 04-18-2011 10:45 PM

what size tires you got on there billy?

Casper98 04-18-2011 10:49 PM

245/45/18

Blackout01 04-18-2011 11:06 PM

did you guys have to tinker with the drive shaft at all? I was told that if you do anything over 3 inch lift or drop you have to adjust drive shaft angle or something like that??? Does that sound right? I may start looking for a new project and i wanna drop a ranger again, had a 93 lowered and traded it in, biggest mistake ever, I still miss that truck :17:

Casper98 04-19-2011 07:11 PM

Nope I haven't had to touch my Drive shaft. Anything lower that abut 7" in the back you'll have to notch the cab for clearance.

CBrooks89 04-19-2011 09:33 PM

so billy what is the size from tread to tread....just lookin to see how the tires i got will work with a dropped truck...and then since both yall (billy and grant) got rid of emblems on ur trucks...whats the best way to do it?
