3'' Spindle kit

3'' Spindle kit
I'm looking at fabtech spindles which i found for $505.43 - i couldn't find anywhere on summit i was wondering if anybody knew of a more cost friendly place to find them or if this was a good deal.

Overall summit seems to be lacking for the '04 ranger.. couldn't find AAL's even from procomp. Any help here also?
Good or no?

As for shocks i'm looking at KYB, is anyone familiar with or has used these?

Also maybe i'm just a little slow but the quantity on that item says 'sold individually' does that mean i'd need to buy two just for the rear or do they come as a pair? And any help with the front end also?

Hard to find new fabtech at that price, you can get Doetsch new at that price though. The AAL is the same as for the 03 model and before that. Might be advertised as an explorer one as well. Cannot remember from when I bought them for my 04.
No need for new shocks up front with just a spindle, unless you really want it.

I'm in the same boat as this guy, spindle lift on an '00 Mazda 2wd Torsion front end at the end of this semester.

I've been eyeballing their 5" lift for when taxes come in :)

You do not get anymore travel with the spindles. Yea you could upgrade to new shocks and get a better ride, but you are not going to blow out your stock shocks due to the lift as the spindle is the same as stock, its just the snout is moved 3" lower on the spindle. However the rear you will want longer shocks if you lift it.

What if you only wanted 2" of lift and turned your torsions down 1" after the spindle lift. That would soften up the ride a bit and give you some more articulation and travel.
I dont think I will do this (higher is better) but I am intrigued as to what results that would yield. Perhaps some of you suspension gurus can fill me in.

I also found this, it says it's the upper/lower control arm kit. Does this include the spindle which would provide the lift? I've linked to this page because when you click on the item it does not show a larger picture. At least not on my computer.

(look for control arm)

According to the description it is only the upper arm. Now lower arms made by fabtech for Rangers as far as know. Seeing as how it is just upper arm, it would do nothing for ya, but that price usually reflects both arm and coil. But the description says upper arm only with ball joint. Definitely no spindle though.

Would it sway more/be more prone to roll over?
I guess I could always try it when I put the lift on and if I dont like it after a short test drive I could then crank them back to stock before I take it in for alignment.

If your looking cheap get coils. If your looking quality get the spindles.
