I never took pics of my truck with lift and stock tires, but basically i looked like some lifted truck with undersize tires. It wasn't terrible but i wanted to upgrade. you can totally rock it for a few weeks, just try to get larger tires.

I'm prolly going to get a 3" lift so 33s would be my best choice or would 32s be better since i'm not getting that big of a lift on?

That pic is of my truck when it was lifted. I was running a 4" Superlift with a 1" bodylift and 35" BFG mud T/A's.

Only problem with 33's is that you have to worry about gears and such.

Nice thread.specially for newbies like me still learning. like the fact that you added the pros and cons of each. I think i'll go with the 3" body lift and some 33's!!

If you do a torsion crank, is it recommended to do anything to the rear? I only want a very slight lift as I am only going to run 31's, but I want it to sit a little higher than stock. Would cranking the torsions just make my truck sit level, or would the nose end up being a little higher than the rear?

I'm a n00b at lifts, I'm all about lowering.

Cranking all the way would make the front sit just a tad higher at first but it will settle to even. Well that's what happened with mine. Now the front sags big time after 2 years of being cranked. I still run 31s with no problems.

shoot...with my saggy old bars, my 32's were still perfect w/o any rub.

the whole thing with cranking...is getting rid of that ugly rake they have from the factory....in a couple years, sure, you should replace the bars...and maybe even upgrade them to #1 bars like i did when i put my suspension lift on.

Take a peek into our project log section of the site. We've got probably 5 SAS build threads of differnet styles.

If you're new to welding, steer away from a solid axle.
If you're new to fab work, steer away from a solid axle.
If you're dead broke, steer away.
If you're not okay with having your truck down for AT LEAST 2 weeks, steer away.

Take a peek at the project logs. you'll gain alot of info in regards to this sorta swap.

Saw a lifted Ranger the other day. Looked to have a 4" lift on it. But the drop bracket was different from the Superlift or RCD bracket. It had three rectangular holes in it, kinda looked like a Fabtech but without the triangles.

Anyone know of another company that makes lifts for the Ranger? Just kinda curious to find out what kind of lift that guy had.
