I am running a D30 on my ranger, but I am having a 4 link put in and will only be running 31's. The guys building my truck said that I would be able to get a great deal on chromeally shafts and if I get them chryo'ed I wouldn't have any trouble running 33's.

jsut get the one peice shafts with the 760 joints. with 33's youll be fine. no need to spend money on the chromoly shafts. now i know most people might not agree but dont waste your money polishing your turd no matter how much you polish its still a peice of poop

Well put. D30 would be a good swap into a golf-cart.

I doubt there are many boulders in florida for him to worry about anyways. I still think any solid axle ranger is flippin sweet!

So i'm the only one in this thread that thinks a d30 with 38.5's is a BAD IDEA? i don't think so, so don't call me out when me and 3 other people are all making the same, correct statements.

I would have to agree that anything over 33 on a d30 is a bad idea, but it can depend on what you are doing with it, I guess.

no matter what you do with 38's on one is going to be a bad idea though.

i think that a d320 is a very bad idea with 38's but still it's his truck and i respect that hes doing all the work..who knows he could go pull out a d60 from a junk yard for 50 bucks and start buiklding it up right now so he is only running around with that D 30 for a few weeks i will say however i would not dog the **** out of it yet with that d30... the limit for those are 33's if u wheel like ur sopose to...i personally have granaded 2 sets of spider gears 1 carrier barring and 3 axle shafts running 36's on my 14 bolt in my blazer.....so it's all in how u wheel..if u take care of it it'll last anyway truck looks good eather wayu and what kind of milege do u get out of tyhose boggers i'm thinking of buying a set for my blazer

if you do plan on keeping the 30 i would look into the warn kit as i think their shafts have lifetime warrenty

Just don't understand why we can all post pics and whatever we want on here, which everyone is going to leave the opion they are entitled to, but I am in the wrong letting him know that it is not going to be a durable/desireable set-up running that small an axle on that size of a tire??

Locked means a locker in the diff, not "locked" in 4 wheel drive.

He means a locker diff as in not limited slip as in completely locked both wheels turning same speed not just in 4x4...or known as a spool rear end or arb locker...so many things.

and dont school me and what a spool is know i am just trying to help him understand...

yes Jey people are intitled there opinions thats the piont of a open forum. but dear god man we got your piont a long time ago on page one. you dont have to keep beating him to death on it...its his truck he can blow it up not blow it up hell he can put 58" mudders on it if he pleases its all up to him thus why he owns the truck...

my rig has a stock D44 with 5.13 gears, 37" MTR's and a detriot locker... i haven't been able to wheel it yet but the previous owner flogged the fawk out of it and only broke one shaft, the long side.... the joint blew and oblonged the ears... i think a stock 44 could run 38's locked, jsut have to know when to let off, if ya stop hoppin back off....

i've heard amazing things done with the D30 before nothing will surprise me.. he atleast has the grunt work done now, when he chooses to upgrade the axle he will basically just need to slap it under that bish!!! looks good, gotcha self a monster truck now!
