you just need to keep hitting it until it pops out, trust me it will come out, try not to hit/damage anything else tho

its called a 4lb hammer aka BFH and hit that upper arm from the underside. that's how i do it and it comes right out everytime.

to do the lowers, you must unbolt the CV shaft(that big nut). Also take out the outer tie rod from the knuckle. Put a floorjack under the lower control arm to put some weight on it, then beat the **** out of that flat spot on the knuckle. You can use the tie rod mount to beat on as well. It'll take some pretty good blows to get the joint seperated from the arm. Dont be afraid to cuss and literally beat the holy shiz out of it. at least...that's how i do it.

Leave the cv in. Thread those hub bolts back in some and knock em until the hub comes loose. Then you can take the knuckle off to get at the lower balljoint.

^^what he said. thread the nut on a few turns, then hammer on the nut. you put the nut on the threads to not damage the threads when you hit it w/o a nut. not too hard, theres stil the possibility of damaging the threads should you beat the living **** out of it.

the hub/bearing assy can stay bolted to the knuckle. the CV should slide right out once 'unseated'.

I'm pretty sure it goes as if you were sitting in the truck. So the right would be the passenger side.

right should mean passenger side..look at your part numbers and back track them via rockauto.com.

try this if u havent gotten it off yet...mines coil spring but everything should be pretty much the same principal. remove the shock, remove sway bar end links and support the truck by the frame(btw the best way is with a floor jack and another floor jack or a bottle jack) put the 2nd jack under the lower controll arm and start to lower the jack so it starts taking the pressure off of the t-bars, then take your BFH and bump the UCA and it should come out...

its more work that way but it will definately get it loose
