I've been hearing a rather loud low pitch sqeak when I turn in either direction.
I took it to a shop and had mybrakes done and they showed me both sides U&L ball joints. All of them appeared to be the same in appearance. The rubber boot was gone, near gone, or split wide open. I also notice that if I press down on the driver's side front end it tends to squeak as well. I don't know if I am having ball joint problems exclusvely or maybe some issues with my steering units too. Whatever that all consists of. The truck has new shocks, tires, brakes, and has just ovr 100K miles. Any ideas?????

 

Ball joints are shot, for sure. I just had my uppers replaced, they were pressed in, the dealer/other car shops are gonna tell you that you'll have to buy the whole upper control arms, you shouldnt if it's a 2wd.. Just get some Napa greasables and replace all four, your truck will feel like new again.. I know when mine were bad my truck was sloppy feeling in the front end! Good luck.

 

everytime i turn i have like a low pitch noise or maybe popping noise... idk wut kinda noise but it only makes the noise when im goin over a bumpy road or makin a turn.... what could it be? lol

Had ball joints U/L, L&R replaced today. Cost 480.00. The uppers were pressed out with quite some difficulty. The sqeaks and grinds have now all gone away. Thanks for all of your advice and inputs.

 

Good to hear! Yeah I tried pressing the uppers out myself, but they wouldnt budge, so I had the dealer do it.

 

nice i just got my truck back... 580 for mine with moogs... when i asked him if the ride was better he said that he didnt want to drive the truck because they were so bad lol...
