i want a lil more

well i have a DJM 4/6'' drop and the front is perfect but the back hangs just a lil to high. I was wondering if there is an inexpensive mod i can do to bring the back a lil lower. Im not talking about putting stuff in my bed cheaper but like leaf springs or rear lowering blocks.... whichever

are you sprung over or under. if your sprung over. you could go pick up an explorer axle or weld new spring perches on the bottom of your axle tube, which would slam it on the ground.

If He's got a 6" drop in the back it's definitely a spring under conversion... if you don't already have "lowering" blocks under the spring, I would go with a 1" block. You can use a Chevy shackle as well, not sure which one, though... (lift or lower)

But I'm guessing that a shackle would be a little safer...

the lowering chevy shackle actually lifts a Ranger.....

like Channing said, put a 1 or 2" block in between the spring and the axle if you have the axle over spring....

if you dont have axle over spring, then do that swap also....that will give you another 2.5" of drop...

Well First im going to say with the flipkit theres no way you got 6 inches, more like 5 or so. Best way to get the rear lower is flip the rear hangers which is 2 inches of drop and like 10$ or so in bolts. Or you can get 1 inch Belltech Blocks which will make the truck perfectly level, with 2 inch blocks the *** will sag a little if your looking for a level look.

with a flipkit that chevy shackle will raise it, not drop it. That shackle is the same as the DJM Lifting shackle they include for the 3 inch flipkit because with stock shackles its 5 inches with the 2 inch lifting shackle its 3 inches.

yea if you flip the spring hanger over....but you cant just bolt in a chevy shackle and expect it to lower it....

I dont get what your trying to explain?

He has his rear axle flipped via flipkit with stock shackles. If he flips his rear hangers thats another 2 inches of drop. If he uses a Chevy Lifting shackle it wont drop it, it will raise it.

what i am saying is..........if he LEAVES his hangers the way they are, the chevy LOWERING shackle will not lower it, it will raise it........BUT....if he flips his hangers over and modifies them so they work that way, then YES the chevy lowering shackle will work.....BUT.....i dont know if there is enought room between the bed and the hanger for a Chevy LOWERING shackle to fit in there...

ah I see but why would he need a chevy lowering shackle in the first place? When he can just flip his rear hangers and get 2 inches of drop on top of the 5 inches of the flipkit that puts you at 7 inches and on the frame.

Damn you got 6 inches I got 6 out of mine but I have the havy fiberglass cover in the back and splash leafs. But every truck drops different some get 4.5 some get 6 depends on how warn the leafs are.

Id get block or flip the rear hangers, hangers is cheaper but alot more work. I dont even think they make shackles to drop us more?

they dont make shackles for Rangers to drop.....

he could flip the hangers, and then run the chevy lowering shackle at the 1" hole to get 1" extra drop......

yeah but why? Thats what Im trying to understand why you keep bringing that up with the flipkit, and hangers flipped on stock shackles it will be a 7 inch drop and the axle will be on the frame. Any lower than 7 inches even with a notch his driveshaft is going to be rubbing all kind of crossmembers around the gastank.

you could bag it :)
layed out ranger > layed out s10!! hah
get the tapered blocks if ya havent got some already so they will help keep the pinion angle in a good position.

oh and you MAY bottom out the differential on the bottom of the bed... i was going to buy a ranger with a 7/7 drop(ya springs were cut, but i was going to bag it) and it bottomed out on the tranny xmember, gas tank and some other stuff.

1 inch if your running djm coils up front with those arms, if you have belltech coils on the arms i would run 2 inch drop in the back.

1 inch will level you out if your running the djm 4/5
