I just bought a 2001 Ford Ranger Edge, 4wd, manual, 3.0 V6...

According to the stickies its between a 3" bodylift for $200 or a superlift for $1500 which is a HUGE price jump. I just want a cheap suspension lift that looks good and does a little better than stock suspension. I dont do any SERIOUS offroading or rock crawling.. I just like to get her muddy with some buddies occassionally.

I can't find anything online though.. I had a 4" suspension from Rough Country on my 2002 Jeep Wrangler for $400-500. Will any of their lifts fit my Ranger? or is there another brand that will work?

The super lift is your only option. But you'll also need to get a better front driveshaft. The super lift driveshaft is around $400 I believe but I think some people have pieced together their own custom driveshafts that work well. The super lift kit also comes with blocks to lift the rear but since the ranger already has blocks in the rear, you would have to stack them which is no good. Your best bet would be to buy lift springs for the rear on top of the price of the kit and the front drive shaft. So as you can see this is getting expensive real quick lol that's why a lot of guys do body lifts. On top of all this, the torsion bar drop brackets in the kit will hang down just as low as they do stock so you won't get anymore ground clearance in that area.. There is a coil over conversion kit available on this forum that gets rid of the torsion bars but it's not cheap. Hope this helps you out!

 

ok. so whats a decent cheap body lift kit that comes with everything? or will I need to purchase other things? like an extended shifter

also do I need to buy a leveling kit? or spindles or anything?

 

A lot of people run the performance accessories body lift. If I recall correctly, it doesn't come with the shift extender (don't quote me on that) but they are available and not too difficult to make if you wanted to make your own. I'm no expert on body lifts but there is a very detailed thread about doing one in the suspension tech/body lift section that should have all the info you need

 

There should be a different part number for the PA body lift that includes the shifter extension. I have an auto, but body lifts in general aren't hard to install. Grab a couple buddies and clear up a weekend or long Saturday to do it.

Summit doesn't show a kit with the shifter extension in it. I'm pretty sure they offered it as part of a kit when I bought mine, though. Oh well.

Oh okay. I was positive they came as a kit before, I guess it's just something Summit doesn't offer. It's $40 separatey from them.

 

Yeah I've seen 35 and 40 just depends on where you order from I guess
