Coil Over Conversion
I have a Edge 2x4, I want to eventually swap everything out so it can become a 4x4 but that's not the question.
I am seeing a couple threads about coil over conversions, now converting it to a coil over front end would make the drive quality better right? Because I don't go off roading but the roads here in Winnipeg are very bad, the truck always gets tossed around when driving.
Also could you do this but still keep a stock suspension level? Maybe just level it out with the rear to give it that "cranked torsion bars" look. Because I am looking to upgrade to the size of the stock Level 2 BFG's. How do you determine what length of coil overs you'll need to get the height you want.

the coilovers should give a nice levelled height and should make the ride quality much smoother but i wouldn't bother if your not going offroad..
IMO go pull off a set of factory bilsteins out of a wrecked level 2, do your 4wd swap, crank the t-bars and call it a day. torsion bars are far more stable on road and can be plenty smooth with nice shocks.

i dont know about his area but one of my JY's has about 3 level 2's. t-bars are just fine if its a road going daily driver.
Well I would consider some of our roads "offroad" because there's been times where I was going only 40km and thats under 20mph I think and one of the front wheels has popped off the ground.. Not to mention you get thrown around inside the cab.
A better ride is a better ride. I don't think it matters what you use your Ranger for. Coilovers are a huge improvement over torsion bars.
Yes, you can convert to coilovers on an otherwise stock suspension. I think you will need a 2.0" X 5.0" coil-over, but don't quote me on that. Contact Nick at Off Road Warehouse to confirm this.
