Coilover brackets
#28
I'm not sure what is so special about the Fox coilovers. I already did this once for Nicks truck in the front. I didnt even have IFS when I made them. We used a QA1 coilover.
Who is close that would like something like this? Maybe they could over and we could test fit a set in?

Yeah that's why I'm gonna take measurements from mine when I pull em off. That's a good rough sketch of the brackets but like you said with no baseline dimensioning it makes it nearly impossible to get those into cad

The drawings I am making will be accurate and include all measurements and angles, but will still be on paper. They also aren't a copy of any brackets in existence, they are my own design. CAD would be much better so if you guys are really going to do it I won't bother finishing mine. I don't have access to those programs.

were you going to make them and sell them KLC? If so I dont want to jump in line. You are more than welcome to. If you have the drawings and want someone to cut/weld them up I am sure someone can help you with that.
also I can draw them up in a cad program if you want to send me what you have. and i will get them back to you.

No, I was just going to make (actually finish) the drawings so that everyone who wanted coil-over's could easily have the brackets made. That's as far as I was taking it myself. I was just trying to help out since most seemed at a loss since ORW no longer offers their kit. I will send you what I have if you want to make them though.
So if someone wants to draw up the brackets on CAD, cut them out, weld them up, and sell them they are welcome to. I am sure most would prefer that. Like Zach said, just be careful about copying a design.

Yeah, those were just redrawn by me to clean them up. They were originally drawn by someone else. The drawings I am currently working on aren't even the same design. They are much nicer and would include all needed details. I most likely won't be able to finish them for another couple weeks or so due to work. So it sounds like someone else will probably get the ball rolling faster.

trepaul: what CAD program are you using? I have used solidworks and now at school they are claiming that Pro\E is now the top of the line drawing program. How do you have access to waterjet? Must be through work? I don't know if any of the drawings I can make will be able to be used for production because they are student edition. I would be happy to draw them up and get you a detail when we get more info on these though. I haven't been back to my dad's shop for awhile to get measurements... and it has been fricken cold and snowy here so haven't been able to get wheels off.
edit: see your not using waterjet my mistake, read too quickly
