Confusion about lift I bought

Hello everyone,

I recently bought a spindle lift off of ebay. It was used and came off a 2000 Mazda. Included items were spindles, springs, rotors, and shocks.

Now I know that there are 2 kits for the XLT, one for the 98-00 and one for 01+, and Im not sure what the differences are. I have an 01 and I thought that with the rotors from an 00 I would be able to use these spindles. But now I am in dought and think I might have made a mistake with buying this lift after reading around the forums a bit. Could someone please chime in and let me know if this will work.

Thanks,
Justin

I'm pretty sure the difference is in the rotor size. However, if rotors were included, you shouldn't have a problem.

You've got an 01 2wd XLT right? And you got them for a 2000 B series 2wd?

If that's the case, I don't believe there is any difference in the spindles themselves.

Yes I have 01 XLT 2wd and all the parts came from 00 Mazda B 2wd.
I also thought that the only difference was the rotor size, but none of the spindle manufacterers specify the reason for two different spindles. There are just two different part #'s, one for the 98-00 and one for 01-04. I couldn't find the answer when I searched either. I just dont want to start to install the lift and find out that they dont fit.

Well I don't know if this will be much help, but a guy in our offroad group did a comparison of body lifts from the 2 generations to figure out what the differences are. Mostly it was just the bumper brackets that were different. But spindles don't mess with the bumpers so who knows..

Well I just talked with some of my friends and we decided to install the lift this upcoming weekend. We have all the necessary tools and equipment. I just have one more question to ask, should I replace the ball-joints when I put the lift on, the truck has 46k miles on it.

yeah, you've got to press the old ones out- so if you think they might be going bad then now's the best time to replace them. Otherwise you'll be doing the exact same thing whenever they go. Napa fleet ball joints are really good and come with a grease zirk, but the boot could be a little beefier. I ended up buying a cheapie balljoint that came with a better boot and used it on the napa. Anyway, good luck.. let us know how it turns out!

How would you tell if they are going bad, I thought that if it wasn't too much hassle I would just change them now. Only problem is that I don't have access to a press during the weekends.
