Ok I started a new thread to see if anybody has any experiance with this lift kit from Doestch.
I want to order it but would like some feedback if anybody had any issues etc. I will also be ordering the shackles for the rear to level.
Any help would be appreciated.

That was my first lift on my 07xl 2wd

In my opinion, its ok. I ran this kit for a good while on my truck. Here is everything I can tell you about it.

The problem with them is that it affects the ride, handling, and wear on parts/tires. It changes all of the angles on the stock suspension(specifically the upper control arms) and puts them at angles which they are not designed to run at. Also, the suspension runs out of down-travel at every speed bump or pothole, resulting in a jarring ride and noise.

Now, you can buy, build, or have built for you upper control arms designed to change the geometry to help alleviate some of those problems(however expect to pay $400+). They do help, however the ride is still not like stock, as your wheel only travels about 1-1.5 inches down from the trucks resting height. Also, you can buy limit straps which "hold" the suspension from dropping too far, I am a huge fan of these. They reduce the wear on parts by keeping your ball joints from binding or your spindle from hitting your frame(a result of "over extending" your suspension which causes noise/jarring ride).

My recommendation would be to save up and go for the lift spindles. They are awesome, 3" of lift, with no ride or handling compromise. They work by lowering the wheel in relation to the truck, while not changing any of the stock geometry. You have the option of using stock shocks(at least in front, rear shocks may be too short depending on rear lift height) or any aftermarket shocks.

Sorry too butt in on this thread but i myself was also looking at getting this kit cause it was recommended by Zach Beard one who i trust. No when you where talking about the jarring because of the control arm were you talking about the ones that come with the kit or the stock ones?? I have a 99xlt 2wd and i was gonna get the 6in kit. thanks in advance.
