Are you talking about a front driveshaft or a rear? Also how much lift are you putting on?

Specs would also be helpful such as year, drivetrain, standard cab or supercab, shortbed or longbed etc.

PLEASE! Search. Every post you've done can easily be answered using the search feature of the site.

If you are talking about a 98+ 4x4 Ranger Superlift kit, than yes. You do....but only when your stock one goes out. Or you need to upgrade to an explorer front shaft. The stock shafts supposedly goes out at about 10,000miles after the install of the lift.
