Front End Work - Mystery Vacuum Reservoir

2 Questions (and apologies in advance if I'm posting in the wrong place) -- So I've just replaced right side upper control arms, lower ball joint, and outer tie-rod on my 2001 XLT (4x2 Crew cab 4 door). In a couple of vids that I watched, they mentioned disconnecting vac tubes from the cannister that was SUPPOSED to be attached to the wheel-well liner. I never ran into it when removing the liner, but later found it just tucked up over the mount for the upper control arm and dangling in the engine (previous work?) --

Question 1: where is the vac cannister/reservoir SUPPOSED to attach to the liner? I've searched online for a diagram of the liner WITH the cannister attached in vain.

Question 2: I'll be taking it in for an alignment once I've done the left side -- should I replace the liners or be nice to the techs and put them back in after its done. Think they'll cut me a deal if they don't have to deal with the liners?

Note: This is my first ball-joint adventure ever. Be kind to a newbie, but feel free to add any "Did you make sure and . . . " that you may have. Thanks in advance for any help.

With fender off it looks like this: https://www.explorerforum.com/forums...obe-jpg.39621/

From the inside like this: https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...0reservoir.jpg

#2, not sure it would matter to alignment guys since that's what they do daily, so your choice

I saw your post and while I am in the process of doing a timing cover and water pump project I snapped a couple of shots for you from my 2003 3.0 2WD Ranger, I hope you find it helpful.
