ok so im the one that got the front components of an rcd lift from matt. ive been planning to lift my truck for some time now, and been searching the classifieds. i found like 4 or 5 of these lifts within my price range.So as soon as tax time hit it was mine. i was going to wait untill summer to install but i had a wheel fall off and i busted a wheel bearing brake caliper bracket and my cv joint/axle/halfshaft. so i just decided to start tearing it down. i have alot of pics to post as soon as i figure out how to..lol

 

I don't know what year your truck is or what has been replaced but now is the time to go ahead and replace things like balljoints or tie rods if they have some miles on them.

yeah i got new upper and lowers ball joints TREs upper upper and lower control arms even cv joints and wheel bearings

 

well i have a 3 in PA body lift already either 35s now or 37s this summer what do you think? currently have 33s

 

35's and 4.88 gears. You are golden with that combo

 

I agree... 35's are plenty for an IFS!

 

yeah im not going to put bigger tires on untill i put 4.88s in it. I was going to buy them off matt untill Iwent wheeling and lost my 4wd, broke my shift tube, busted a taillight and busted a PS line...

i took the pictures with my phone and emailed them to myself then downloaded them to my computer just cant figure out how to upload them here on rf but it is installed i have shackles, add a leaf and a 3 inch block in the rear planning on 6 inch softrides. but i hate those compression bars bent them both already thinking about sas but i want more power first found a 4bt but i just want to turbo rides real stiff in the rear now im haveing front driveshaft problems and 4wd not going into low

 

this is an expensive hobby

 

If you have a smart phone there is a photo bucket app. It makes it real easy to post pics.

 

If you go to a 37" tire, PLAN on LOTS of problems. Even a 35" tire is still something I would not attempt on a ranger with IFS. Weakest point of ANY IFS system is the Tie rods. 33" are plenty big for IFS. Most 6 inch lift kits I install dont run a tire bigger than 34" tall and no wider than 12.50". With the Ranger and Explorer front ends I see SOOO many Issues with all the front end components completely stock. Add a bigger tire and it will just add to how much money and time and parts you put into your truck to keep it mobile.

RCD is a great company and Ive never had a single issue with their kits, Ive installed close to 20 kits in the last 3-4 years on various vehicles, most being GM 2500HD trucks DirtyMax style.

Just Be Aware of what Can possibly happen after a lift kit and big tires. Me personally, being in the field of work Im in, would not run a tire bigger than 33" on a Ranger The front end will not handle it comfortably and hold up.
