haha looking good man!

God,Country,FORD 06-23-2009 09:16 AM

thanks.. Notice the NASTY radiator droop thats going on.. and that nasty ass piece of plastic under the radiator lol..

04blackedge 06-23-2009 09:17 AM

That thing is huge!

God,Country,FORD 06-23-2009 09:18 AM

thanks! are you talking bout the pics before or the pics after lol?

Fx4wannabe01 06-23-2009 09:19 AM

When you get back, rip that nasty ass piece of plastic off the bottom of the radiator!!

Bed won't take more than a couple hours...hell...I did mine in a hour.

God,Country,FORD 06-23-2009 09:22 AM

yeah i plan on it.. the only thing that i am having diff. with is the god dammed radiator brackets.. i couldnt get them to fit.

Fx4wannabe01 06-23-2009 09:35 AM

The lower ones right?

If so....put them in a vise and 'hourglass' them. I had to do that to Marie's truck. I did 3 others before hers and didn't have to hourglass them. This needs to be done on some trucks to clear the coresupport's little 'flange' thing. aka..excess.

God,Country,FORD 06-23-2009 09:40 AM

yeah, i kinda beat it a little on one side.. and it still didnt fit, just made it a little harder to get the radiator "feet"(i know thats not the technical term lol) to slide in.. i think i would have been able to do it if i would have had an extra set of hands helping hold the radiator while i finagle with the dam brackets..

04blackedge 06-23-2009 09:43 AM

I never even put my lower brackets on my Ranger lol, was fine without them.

God,Country,FORD 06-23-2009 09:45 AM

so you just kept the radiator in the stock position? sh!t, if that works, ill just do that lol

Fx4wannabe01 06-23-2009 09:53 AM

Don't do what Trent did....plastic rad housing + those skinny vertical drops....I can see it now...

You want those lowers in, if you drop the rad. Many report no issues w/o lowering the rad.

God,Country,FORD 06-23-2009 09:56 AM

ok ill put in the drop brackets lol..once i do that, then hooking up the air intake should be easy.. then paint the front bumper brackets, put that on, put the cattle gaurd back on, then thats it with the front.. should be able to finish everything up with one good hard days of work.. hopefully lol

seed60 06-23-2009 09:58 AM

I almost want to raise my radiator back up. I've read that flipping the shroud will allow it and you won't even have to bother with lowering the radiator.

God,Country,FORD 06-23-2009 09:59 AM

why do you want to raise it back up?

It hangs down low. The more clearance the better!!

04blackedge 06-23-2009 10:02 AM

I never had a problem with mine just with those 'skinny little drops' and it was like that for over 8,000 miles. Not my problem anymore though

ok, gotcha.. so how would you keep it at the stock height?

God,Country,FORD 06-23-2009 10:06 AM

shane- dont know if i should take that as a compliment or not lol

I prefer the safe over sorry route...had a rad mount break on my chevy...rad tilted back, hit the fan, destroyed the rad and the fan. spendy ass parts to replace. If you drop it...drop it properly, not half ass. just my opinion.

04blackedge 06-23-2009 10:07 AM

Thats the pain of buying a kit used, didn't come with em

God,Country,FORD 06-23-2009 10:08 AM

shane- would using the kit drop brackets be the "right" way to do it?
